Being a mother is not a job to me, it is in fact so much harder and deeper than that. It’s part of every fiber of my being. The decisions I make in anything track back to what is best for my family. To reduce this to something that can be “outsourced” is an insult. Rather, we foster a village of trusted individuals that enrich our children through love, lessons and connection. Who they look up to and sets the example is far more impactful than who drives them to school. Both important, but one is parenting and the other is a task.

Working with was nothing short of magical 🪄
From our very first brief, the team wanted to lead with what was important to me. I told them that my culture is a huge part of who I am and they gave me so much creative freedom to bring my Indian heritage into the imagery. Every choice I made was intentional, and I want to take a moment to tell you about the pieces I chose for the cover.
I was born in Tamil Nadu, in the south of India. Kanchipuram is a type of handoven silk born from this region. This heirloom Kanchipuram sari was tied as a skirt and draped to make the background of this iconic shot.
Kundan jewelery is a traditional Indian heirloom made of carefully shaped uncut diamonds set in yellow gold. These earrings were gifted to me by my mother.
The YSL Le Smoking Jacket was the first tuxedo designed for women, introduced by the brand in 1966. It’s one of my favorite pieces, and the history has a lot to do with why.
The Prada bralette is made of Nylon, a fabric embraced by the brand in the 1980s, the decade I came into this world. It was a risk taken by the brand that has now become an iconic hallmark.

There is Art, and there is Science. Art is creative, subjective, and personal. Science is algorithmic, objective, and ubiquitous. The beauty of Plastic Surgery to me, is that it encompasses both Art and Science.
After graduating medical school, I completed residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. After 8 years of training, I chose to pursue an additional fellowship year in Microsurgery. I chose a longer road than many, but each training program has afforded me a unique skillset to make whole again what is lost to trauma and cancer. Cancer treatment is complex, and as a board certified General Surgeon I can speak the language of your Surgical Oncologist. I understand the role of radiation, chemotherapy, and how they affect surgical options. As a Plastic Surgeon I understand the nuance of reconstruction. Every patient deserves a uniquely tailored reconstructive plan that considers every part of their cancer, treatment, and preferences. Microsurgery fellowship has afforded me what I am most proud of: I am well trained to provide the entire gamut of reconstructive surgery.
