Most people think this is surgery.

Most people asking for filler actually need Botox.

Botox and filler do completely different things, but they get confused all the time.

Botox relaxes muscle movement. That’s what treats forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet — all the lines that show up when your face moves.

Filler does the opposite. It adds volume. That’s for under-eye hollows, flat cheeks, or lines that are there even when your face is completely still.

Botox relaxes. Filler fills. That’s the difference.

If you treat a movement problem with filler, it won’t go away. The muscle is still contracting. You treated the wrong thing.

That’s why results vary so much depending on who you go to. A good injector looks at your face at rest and in motion before deciding anything.

Most people are one or the other. Some are both. You won’t know until someone actually looks.
