I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT # 83322, CA & REG # 135, FL) practicing in both California and Florida. For the past 12 years, my focus has been to provide a strength-based approach to promote change in individuals, children, couples and families experiencing functional impairment in social, occupational and/or academic functioning. I began my studies at Rollins College in Wint
er Park, Florida, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 2004. I then attended Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy in 2011. During and following my graduate education, I began working towards my specialty in working with children and families. I received additional training from the University of California, Davis, becoming a certified provider in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Horses have always been a healing force in my life and have become a valuable addition to my work in the field of psychology, especially in working with children. Being able to utilize horses in therapeutic ways has opened up a multitude of opportunities for my clients, adding richness and depth to the therapeutic work. In my experience, multiple modalities (i.e. animal assisted therapy and traditional “talk” therapy) has helped my clients move closer to their own goals in therapy in unique ways. I continued to diversify my practice daily, working with women, men, children, adolescents, couples and families in various settings and through a variety of modalities. In addition to my specialty in the treatment of children with behavioral and emotional problems, I also have extensive experience in helping individuals, families, and couples cope with a diverse range of issues, including stress management, relationship issues, difficulties in adjusting to major life changes, trauma, coping with loss, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. I enjoy collaborating with people to find more personal fulfillment in their lives. I respect my clients for their perseverance in navigating through obstacles of life, and I feel privileged to take part in their journey in making positive changes.
