CORE Kidney Program

CORE Kidney Program CORE Kidney is a patient advocacy and support program based on our founding principles of Clinical Excellence, Outreach, Research and Education.

Dr Rastogi's Office at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine aims tp improve healthcare delivery by implementing our CORE values of Clinical excellence, Outreach, Research, and Education with a focus on integrative medicine. Our focus is on integrative medicine, with emphasis on prevention and education, so patients can become their own best advocates. We aim to spread awareness on kidney disease, and provide resources for all: patients, doctors, and the general public. We hold free educational events open to the public that give valuable information about manageable changes patients can make in their daily life to improve their well-being, and prevent future health problems. Our office also conducts clinical research trials, where patients of kidney disease can enroll in. Our Story

Dr Rastogi's Clinical Research Department in the Division of Nephrology at UCLA conducts clinical research specializing in Kidney disease, Heart disease, PKD, Dialysis, Hypertension, Diabetes, Anemia, and more. We are actively recruiting patients who fulfill the inclusion criteria for each individual study! Our studies include investigational drugs and FDA approved medications that target hypertension, chronic kidney disease, hyponatremia, anemia, hyperphosphatemia, polycystic kidney disease, Fabry disease and other diseases that involve the correction of kidney functions, and many other diseases. We are consistently doing outreach and spreading health information at various talks, free lectures, and educational events. We had a very successful inaugural Kidney Health Fair in March of 2015, with over 1000 registrants in attendance. We had 26 stations manned with experts on various topics to spread awareness and education for a diverse population. Feedback from fair participants has indicated improvements in patient lifestyles, and a heightened knowledge and interest in kidney health. In October 2015, we had a follow-up event at UCLA with over 30 educational stations, and 6 nutrition stations where people could learn about custom diets and lifestyle changes to improve their health. This event was featured on the local news, and impacted over 800 participants. Our most current project is the UCLA Kidney Education and Enhancement Program (UKEEP). It is a free monthly lecture aimed ad educating patients of all levels about kidney health, and diseases linked to kidney health. These are just some of the many things our office does to spread health throughout Los Angeles, and even have many patients that travel hundreds of miles to see Dr Rastogi and participate in our clinical research trials. For more information about our research studies, and upcoming events, please contact our office at Bruinbeans@mednet.ucla.edu or (310) 954-2692. This page, UKEEP - Dr Rastogi's Education and Reasearch, is hosted by the UCLA BruinBeans Health Club. BruinBeans Club is a student-run organization promoting kidney health and education for patients regarding kidney diseases and medical research.
