DBT is a type of therapy behavioral therapy that can help people learn how to cope with painful emotions and stop doing things that hurt themselves or others.

DBT teaches clients healthy coping skills for managing their own emotions and improving their relationships.

DBT was created by Dr. Marsha Linehan in the 1980s and was originally developed to treat Borderline Personality Disorder but is now widely used to treat many different issues such as depression, anxiety, relationships issues, eating disorders, and addictions.

Hi! Wanted to re-introduce myself for those of you who are new here! I’m a therapist in private practice and I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, to struggle with negative self-talk, and to be triggered easily. Through navigating my own journey of recovery from childhood trauma and challenges with substance use I’ve learned how to be present with my emotions, heal from tremendous pain and grief, and build a better life. I know recovery is possible, because I’ve lived it.

Now I focus on guiding my clients along their own healing journeys. Through 15+ years of clinical training and practice I’ve developed a wide variety of tools to help my clients overcome their painful pasts, let go of old habits, and build lives that bring them joy and fulfillment. I use a combination of DBT, psychodynamic, and somatic techniques, including EMDR, to help my clients transform their pain into powerful healing that supports them creating the lives they want.
