Today, be aware of how you hold your hands when you are not actively doing something with them.
With the stress of our daily lives, many of us find our hands typically clenched in fists. This is proof of the tension we hold in our bodies. And ponder this. How can we receive the abundance of life if our hands are not open to receive it?
When you become aware that your hands are closed tight, stretch your fingers and spread them wide in the shape of a starfish. Deep breathing will also help you relax into the moment.
Not only can it be your hands that you are closing, but it can also be your jaw that stays tight or clenching throughout the day without you noticing. However, when you become aware of this tension, pause and take a deep breath. Try box breathing. It may help in the moment. Always listen to your body. Your body speaks to you in many different ways.
Whats box breathing you ask?
Box breathing is a simple calming technique that helps reset the nervous system. You breathe in for four counts, hold your breath for four counts, breathe out for four counts, and then hold again for four counts. Repeating this pattern can help reduce stress, quiet the mind, and relax the body.
