I will be delivering this workshop on May 24, 2023 at LACMA in dialogue with their New Abstracts: Recent Acquisitions exhibition.

In dialogue with the exhibition New Abstracts: Recent Acquisitions, wellness coach and fifth-generation Baguazhang martial arts instructor Yunuen Rhi (we/they/them) will lead a self-healing movement-based workshop. Participants will be invited to reflect on the abstract vocabularies of the new collection pieces and to imprint the exhibition space with the movement calligraphy of their Taoist-Buddhist ancestral practice. This two-hour workshop is a gentle exploration of the infinite possibilities of material form and gesture within the personal and collective body.

No experience necessary. A presentation of context will be provided. Open to all bodies and abilities.

This program is open to adults aged 18 years and older. ASL interpretation is available courtesy of Pro Bono ASL. For all accommodation requests, please contact educate@lacma.org.

This program takes place at LACMA. RSVP required.

Please sign the petition in my bio to save this protest statue from removal by right wing Japanese in Berlin. My Korean family had to escape the Japanese army war crimes by going to Mexico in 1905. We honor all the victims of cruel war crimes & mass sexual slavery worldwide with this statue that awaits accountability for harms waged. In this case almost a century has passed without acknowledgement from the Japanese govt.
