You don’t really know your product until you’ve seen it in action and collected both qualitative and quantitative data from its community. Each layer in business development requires Intricate observation and analysis, enabling you to make something truly customer centered and efficient.

In 2023, we launched our first beta platform, Wrkz Digital Art Studio! A multimedia digital technology and marketing agency, providing youth and young adults ages 17 - 30 from low-income backgrounds with paid hands on work experience through partnering with local vendors.

We took an ad hoc approach to creating our first cohort, ‘The Dream Team’ and teamed up with calialcheesecakes.com Together we reached remarkable achievements generating over $30,000 in just six months. That a 900% increase in revenue !

Asking for help is one of the hardest things to do - Especially when money is involved. When it comes to financing your business, investors want to know EVERYTHING, including the things you don’t know yet. Mainly, what are the benefits of their investments into your business, What do they get in return? These questions take time to flesh through based on your experience doing the work. It’s not a simple flip.

Wrkz has been fortunate to have met amazing people who've encouraged and shared opportunities for us to trust the process and begin seeking funding for our community.

In 2022 we applied to our first grant challenge through who gives away $1M each year to organizations and projects that make LA a better place to LEARN, CONNECT, CREATE, PLAY and LIVE. We were not selected as a finalist in the grant challenge, however we were later noticed and recognized by the Snap foundation who generously granted us with our first lump sum grant of $50,000!

This year, the challenge is on again and we want to share the same opportunity with you. Right now, you can vote on issues that you think will make LA an even better place to LEARN, CONNECT, CREATE, PLAY and LIVE.

If you’re like me, you didn’t grow up with a storehouse of resources to help solve your problems. You had to get creative and think outside the box about how to navigate gathering what you needed to make it happen.

That’s just it, You gotta hustle! There are resources out there, but you gotta go find them, and when you do, you have to be patiently relentless until they are secured.

Wrkz was blessed to find who was the bridge connecting us to who helped us establish our legal formation back in 2018.

We’ve all heard the African proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." However, many struggle to put this into practice for a number of reasons. In our minds we’re moving at 100 mph, but outwardly there’s actually slow motion towards the actual vision.

Sharing your ideas with your professional community, family and friend groups, plants seeds and allow others to add their unique and diverse perspectives, fertilizing the environment for your business ideas to take root.

What are the benefits? People from different backgrounds can offer new ideas and approaches you might not have considered on your own. Sharing your vision with others creates a support system that can motivate you and hold you accountable, especially during challenging times. Lastly, by combining your vision with the strengths and skills of others, you can create something even greater than what you could have achieved alone.

Key point: Your passion is the currency. Be receptive to suggestions and willing to adapt your vision based on valuable insights.
