Healthy Habits that Stick in 2023 with Small but Mighty Nutrition Tips 👇
After the past year I was so burned from feeling heavy from living in mold but I'm finally starting to get days without mold flares. I've been focusing on a positive mindset to maintain a healthy body + mind. Be grateful everyday for what we have and keep looking forward. It's about small swaps and sustainable healthy living 👇
‼️Enjoy Breakfast
If you thought skipping breakfast and possibly lunch would make dinner more enjoyable, think again. This will only backfire on you. When you go into a meal super hungry, you will eat more quickly and that normally leads to consuming more calories than you need. Eat your normal meals at their regular times.
‼️Fill your plate with colors!!🥬
A good rule for filling up your plate is to go heavy (fill half your plate) with veggies. Choose an assortment of roasted, steamed, grilled or fresh veggies like beets, carrots, Brussel sprouts, green beans or cauliflower. Start by filling up on veggies first, so you are less likely to over indulge on the mash potatoes and garlic bread. I mean you can’t forget about carbs! Leave the other half for lean protein and carbs. 🍎
Been enjoying a colorful Mediterranean breakfast. So hearty and satisfying packed with protein, carbs, healthy fats, fiber and veggies!!

Zucchini Tots Recipe 🥒
Who else has a fridge full of Zucchini!? I completely forgot about these delicious bites as they are so easy to whip up and perfect for loads of ZUCCHINI!!
These bites are packed full of veggies (even the pickiest eater will eat these up) but the flavor doesn't disappoint. Makes a great side dish or snack + combine with your favorite sauce.
You can go rogue and wing this recipe using what you have on hand. Bake them on a baking sheet and they come out perfect every time with the most crispy edges. SOOO GOOD!!!!
My advice is to be sure to squeeze as much water out of the shredded zucchini, I just used a towel. Some moisture will still remain, but they will turn out just fine. Too much moisture or won't hold shape. Use more bread crumbs to soak it up!
Ingredients
(makes 8-12 depending on size)
1 packed cup grated zucchini (water squeezed out)
1 large egg
1/4 medium red onion, minced
1/4 cup grated sharp white cheddar cheese
1/2 cup breadcrumbs or almond flour
1 tsp garlic + onion powder
1 tsp dried parsley
1 Tbsp lemon juice or some zest
1/4 tsp sea salt
INSTRUCTIONS
1️⃣Preheat oven to 400°F. Add parchment paper to the baking sheet.
2️⃣Grate the zucchini into a clean dish towel until you have 1 packed cup. Wring all of the excess water out of the zucchini, there will be a lot of water!
3️⃣In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Mix well and let sit for 5 minutes.
4️⃣Spoon 1 Tbsp of mixture in your hands and roll into ball. Easier use an inch cookie scoop! Place on tray and bake for 20-25 minutes. Rotate tray halfway through cooking until golden.
5️⃣Let cool and enjoy with dipping sauce. Keeps well in fridge a few days.

February seasonal produce: A new month brings new seasonal produce to enjoy!
I know February isn't known for fruits and veggies with Valentine's Day around the corner. We all love sweet treats but this month enjoy that dark chocolate drizzled on oranges, blood oranges or grapefruit. It will be a hit with everyone!!

Electrolytes are minerals found in the foods you eat and some beverages. Electrolytes
help regulate muscle function including the heart, fluid balance, skin health, digestive health and our body's acid base balance. Whole foods are an easy way to get the electrolytes your body needs.
You don't need sports drinks for those electrolytes but rather try Real Foods like fruits & veggies!!
Note for ELECTROLYTE LOSS: You are losing more electrolytes and are at an increased risk for dehydration if you tend to sweat a lot, are a "salty" sweater, training in a high altitude or training in hot/humid weather. Remember to re-hydrate or replenish with foods!

Say hello to 4 tasty mocktails that will be a crowd pleaser for anyone. If you're enjoying dry January or just limiting after the holidays these will be packed full of flavor. However, you can make these cocktails with your favorite alcohol too. These are low sugar, low calorie and no bartending skills are needed. I especially love the matcha one for an afternoon pick me up.
Save this mocktail menu for your next gathering or choose one to make for yourself this week!!
Which one will you be making?

Start planning your weekly meal prep by eating seasonally. This is your January produce guide, well at least some of my favorites!!
It's starting to feel like winter in SoCal with all this rain but the produce is still coming in strong! I feel like in California we get the best of both worlds with great seasonal produce year round. ♥️
Let me know your favorite produce picks?
