Labor started around 8:30am and contractions were 7-8 min apart consistently, so baby’s mom and I met up at the hospital around 10:30. By 12, I was dilated to a 5 but contractions had nearly stopped after laying in the bed for a while, so we walked the hospital for an hour. As soon as I stood up from the bed the contractions picked up and were 2 min apart and getting strong. We headed back to triage and when we rechecked, I was dilated to an 8, so we rushed over to L&D, and it seemed like I was immediately dilated to a 10. We were only in L&D for less than an hour before she was born. I’ll never forget the sweet moment of witnessing her mom meet her for the first time 💕 it has been a true honor being a surrogate and having this journey ❤️ Special thanks to the nurses, who are true angels! I appreciate you beyond measure. Thanks to my midwives for being such calming support. A special thank you to my mom because I don’t think I could have done it without her encouragement. And thank you to Hatch Egg Donation & Surrogacy and everyone from whom I have received so much love and support through this journey. It really takes a village, and I appreciate my village.”
