Back to work the next day after RLE?
For many patients, yes.

Refractive Lens Exchange isn’t just about reducing dependence on glasses — it’s about minimizing downtime while maximizing clarity. Most patients are functional within 24–48 hours, with vision continuing to sharpen over the following weeks.

Clearer vision. Minimal interruption.
Modern vision correction designed to fit real life.

“Does LASIK wear off?”

Not exactly.

The laser reshaping of the cornea is permanent. What some people experience years later isn’t the surgery disappearing — it’s mild regression.

Regression can happen if:
• Your prescription wasn’t fully stable
• You were very nearsighted/farsighted/had a lot of astigmatism to begin with
• Your eyes continue to change naturally

For most patients, results last decades.

For a small percentage, a minor enhancement may be needed.

The key isn’t avoiding regression. It’s choosing the right procedure at the right time in your life.

EVO ICL recovery is typically smooth — but the first week matters.

Makeup, especially mascara and eyeliner, sits directly along the eyelid margin. In the early healing phase, that’s where we want to minimize bacteria, inflammation, and unnecessary irritation.

Most patients can return to eye makeup about one week after surgery, once the incision has sealed and healing looks good at your post-op visit.

One overlooked tip? Replace older eye makeup before restarting. It’s a simple way to reduce contamination risk.

Modern vision correction is elective. Treat the recovery with the same care you gave the decision.

Choosing EVO ICL — or any form of modern vision correction — isn’t just about qualifying for the procedure. It’s about choosing the right surgeon.

Experience matters. Technology matters. Judgment matters.

You want someone who performs these procedures routinely, who offers the full spectrum of options, who has advanced diagnostic imaging, and who personally evaluates your eyes before recommending a plan. Modern vision correction is highly individualized. The right surgeon won’t push a procedure — they’ll match the procedure to you.

Can RLE change your eye color?” 👀✨

It’s one of those questions I get more often than you’d think. When we talk about Refractive Lens Exchange, we’re replacing the internal lens of the eye to improve vision and reduce dependence on glasses — but what does that actually mean for what people see on the outside? If you’ve ever wondered whether modern vision correction can subtly (or dramatically) alter the appearance of your eyes, this is for you. Let’s break down what’s really happening anatomically — and what isn’t!

PRK recovery is slower.

It can be uncomfortable for a few days.

Vision improves gradually, not overnight.

But it’s also one of the most time-tested, flap-free laser vision correction procedures we have.

Short-term inconvenience. Long-term freedom.

The right choice isn’t about hype — it’s about fit. Let’s figure out what yours is.

Is RLE permanent?

Yes — the natural lens is replaced, and it does not grow back.

That means no future cataracts and long-term vision correction built into the eye.

Presbyopia is progressive. RLE is definitive.

Not everyone is a candidate, but for the right person, it can be life-changing.

If you’re curious whether it makes sense for you, I’m happy to help you understand your options.

If your perception of LASIK is based on what you heard years ago, you’re likely thinking about a different procedure.

Earlier-generation LASIK relied on limited customization and fewer safeguards. Modern LASIK uses femtosecond lasers, eye tracking, iris registration, and ray-tracing analysis to improve precision and visual quality.

That said, LASIK is only one tool. The best outcomes come from matching the right procedure to the right eye, and sometimes that means PRK, EVO ICL, or lens replacement (RLE) instead.

The goal isn’t surgery. It’s lifelong vision quality.

For most of my life, my prescription was high enough that sunglasses meant prescription lenses by default. After LASIK, one of the simplest but most meaningful changes was realizing I could wear any sunglasses I wanted, anywhere in the world. No custom lenses. No planning ahead. Just clear vision and complete freedom. If you’ve ever wondered whether that kind of everyday clarity is possible for you - LASIK or an alternative - you’ve landed at the right place!

Is PRK painful? The honest answer may surprise you. Although a slower recovery compared to that of LASIK, PRK is a great alternative vision correction option that results in the same lasting degree of clarity.

👁️✨ Did you know LASIK and EVO ICL can actually be combined?

This is called a bioptics approach. It’s usually done for patients with very high prescriptions that can’t be fully corrected with one procedure alone. First, the EVO ICL implant corrects the majority of the prescription. Then, a fine-tuning LASIK, SMILE, or PRK procedure is done on the surface of the eye to treat any remaining refractive error.

✅ Great for patients with extreme myopia or astigmatism.
✅ Delivers sharper vision than either procedure alone when used in the right cases.
✅ Safe and effective when planned by an experienced refractive surgeon. 👋🏼

So while LASIK and ICL are usually thought of as “either/or,” in select cases, they work beautifully together to give patients clear, glasses-free vision.
