RadNet and Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts honored the legacy of Senior Vice President of Northern Californian Operations, Chris Gordon, by renaming the Gurnick-RadNet Scholarship the "Christine Gordon Memorial Scholarship."

Chris was instrumental in building the RadNet-Gurnick partnership and made a lasting impact on colleagues across the organization. Originally established in 2019 to support RadNet employees pursuing continued education, the scholarship's new name reflects her enduring commitment to career growth, mentorship, and opportunity.

We're proud to introduce its inaugural recipient: Ella Makovey, Limited License Radiology Technologist at our DRI Elk Grove center. Inspired to become a fully licensed Radiologic Technologist, Ella shared her aspirations with Chris, who encouraged her every step of the way. She began Gurnick's RT program in January 2026 and has shared how honored she feels to be the first recipient.

One of the most meaningful moments captured in her story is Ella's reflection on Chris and says, “she made you feel seen.” It’s a powerful reminder of the encouragement and compassion that defined Chris, and the lasting impact she continues to have through opportunities like this.

Did you know that women were the pioneers of computing?

Until the late1980s, women played major roles in software engineering, systems design and data processing. However, with the rise of the personal computer, technology was increasingly marketed toward men and boys - leading to a sharp decline in women’s participation across both academia and the tech industry.

Today, women continue to remain underrepresented in technology roles-especially in leadership.

This Women’s History Month, RadNet is proud to spotlight a woman helping to shape the future of healthcare technology across our organization - Susan Hollabaugh, RadNet Chief Information Officer.

Her leadership, expertise, and innovation continue to drive meaningful progress at the intersection of healthcare and technology.
