Hope Street Margolis Family Center is a community health, education, and recreation program of Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC), a non-profit hospital that has served Los Angeles since 1887. CHMC is committed to improving the health and wellness of its community through a philosophy of service that is based on strengthening the health, development, and success of children

and families as the cornerstone of creating healthier neighborhoods. In keeping with this vision, in 1992 CHMC collaborated with the University of California Los Angeles to expand prevention and early intervention services for low-income young families by establishing Hope Street Margolis Family Center. The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC partnered with CHMC Hope Street Family Center to offer free dental screenings for young children! The Angelica Early Childhood Center in Pico Union eagerly welcomed the dentistry students into their classrooms to share the importance of good oral hygene with the young patients. It was such a fun experience - helping to establish a positive perspective of dentist visits. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Educating Children, Strengthening Families, Transforming Our Community

Hope Street Margolis Family Center has been serving low income families living in downtown Los Angeles and surrounding areas since 1992. As a community benefit program of Dignity Health-California Hospital Medical Center, Hope Street’s services focus on education, health and wellness, and recreation impacting the lives of over 5,000 children and parents annually.

With services including early childhood education, family literacy, child welfare, mental health, after-school programs for youth 8-18, and wraparound services for families experiencing trauma, Hope Street encourages, inspires, and equips families to find hope and opportunity.
