A first time 5-month pregnant mom came to my clinic for morning sickness and placenta previa. She was on pelvic rest and told she’d certainly require a C-section delivery.

After 10 or so treatments, her placenta fully moved, she’s off pelvic rest, and no longer requires a C-section.

She’s relieved and thrilled. I’m so happy for her! This is why I do what I do!

What a privilege it is to help people. 🙏

Autumn brings dryness, therefore prevention means moistening. Absolutely thrilled for this 51 yo dog bite patient who has these results after JUST ONE Microneedling session. These types of scars (at the corner of her eye on her right and eye-smile line on the left) do require multiple treatments once a month. She had her second session yesterday—we will keep you posted!

A wonderful side effect was the obvious brightening of her skin!

I’m trying not to be cranky. 🥵😇

Sparking joy by listening to
games while live texting Pops, pretending I’m going to get up at 5AM to hike before it gets hot, rage cleaning odd drawers/closets, writing, planning autumn outings/recipes with the kiddo, making potions for my clinic, relearning the Thriller dance, pretending I live in the mountains near a creek, and watching Liam Gallagher interviews (dude is hilarious.)

“I can’t believe you just called me a geek!” I shot back to my nephew, a 24 yo Sergeant in the Marines.

“Says the girl who researches hikes for us,” he said with a grin as he pressed imaginary glasses into his nose.

In this piece—my first for —I guide you through my favorite Lake Tahoe hikes and how to choose trails that can challenge both the daredevils and disabled members of your family.

Hiking is my medicine and one of my greatest joys. It was a thrill to be paid a few clams to geek-out in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Eastside Family Acupuncture is thrilled to offer pen microneedling for our patients! All treatments include light therapy, specialized serum, and cooling aloe mask. The color of light therapy used depends on your health and concerns.

Light therapy is also available as an add-on for traditional acupuncture patients.

Microneedling has proven to provide great results for:

*Wrinkles or aging skin
*Hair loss
*Melasma and dark spots
*Acne and acne scars
*Reducing pore size
*Baggy and discolored undereyes
*Some scars (not recommended for keloids or those prone to keloids

BEFORE Treatment:

*Discontinue retinoids and exfoliants days before the procedure
*Avoid sun exposure
*Consult your doctor if you are on blood thinners
*Avoid make up and all facial products on the day of treatment

AFTER Treatment

*Know that you may be pinkish-red for 24-72 hours after treatment. You also may notice flaking or pin pricks. This will generally resolve in 24-72 hours.
*Avoid sun exposure and heavy exercise for 24 hours after treatment
*You may use aloe, hyaluronic acid, or a serum recommended by Melissa.
