Using a donor

There is no easy way to tell your family about your decision to become a solo mum especially if you are not sure how they are going to react. I was worried that if they didn’t approve it would affect my decision and peace with it so I held off until I fell pregnant. So this is what I did when I was 5 weeks pregnant… I made a video so I could get everything I wanted to say out without being interrupted. I said in no uncertain terms that I did not want to be made to justify my decision and that I was thrilled with it. I explained about the process and how I had used @cryobank . I said that I would like them to be involved from now on but I needed peace and support and not fear about the future and questions. Then I sent it to and waited for the call back. Longest ten minutes of my life.😅 Do you know what the reaction was? Complete joy. None of the drama I had created in my head became my reality. I know not everyone’s story will be like that. If you cant bring yourself to tell someone face to face then don’t. Make a video or write a letter. Say what you have to say and state what you need, if anything, from the person you’re telling.
