Today, there are multiple ways to prevent HIV:
đź’Š Daily oral PrEP (a pill taken once a day)
đź’‰ Long-acting injectable PrEP (every 2 months)
đź’‰ Newer extended options that start with pills and move into longer-term injections (up to ~6 months)
These options are the closest thing we currently have to a “vaccine-like” level of protection, when used correctly.
