This scientist provided one of the best plenary sessions at CROI . This virus is so tricky, it all comes down to making a come out of hexamers and pentamers that house the genetic material . It has to be done just right or the cone cannot enter the nucleus of the cell and release the genetic code .

Exhausted - from sun up to sun down at CROI- listening to presentations on HIV, STI, TB and Hepatitis lectures on current updated and pipeline regimens and medications.
Fantastic news if you want to be on PrEP currently - four FDA meds :2 oral and 2 injectable . The research is occurring to expand the ever 2 month injection to every four Months and the every six months to yearly .
If you are living with HIV - there will be new medication regimens- seems the writing is on the wall with two medications in one pill ( but make sure you are vaccinated against Hepatitis 😎
Bad news - syphilis and congentinal syphilis is on the rise the percentage increase is in the hundreds of %. We still
don’t have a vaccine and we do not have a cure . Plus the work of Trump, Elon and Project 2025 has caused tremendous damage . Cutting funding for studies in the middle of enrollment or during the study time; UNAID cutsdirectly impacting services and supplies to countries that were making a dent in HIV acquisition and mortality ; endangering our gender diverse and non binary friends and families. Driving folx who are undocumented underground and afraid to get their medications .
Implore you to look beyond your backyard and see the negative impact of this policies and rhetoric.
