Under the direction and supervision of the Administrator, the Director of Staff Development is responsible for planning, implementation, director and evaluation of the facility’s educational programs for all employees and quality assurance and improvement in the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A graduate from an accredited school of progressional nursing.
- Current licensure as an RN or LVN in the state in which practicing.
- Has a minimum of 2 years experience as a LVN in supervision and providing care in a long-term care facility.
- Has 24 hours continuing education course in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English. Spanish speaker preferred.
- Must be fully vaccinated with Moderna, Pfizer, or Jansen vaccine.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Coordinates theoretical and clinical orientation to all new employees.
- Provides all documents supporting orientation to the facility’s policies and procedures for maintenance in individual employee file folders.
- Provides timely documentation of all History/Physicals and TB screenings within 7 days of employment.
- Coordinates and conducts an effective on-going in-service plan to all employees.
- Education and Training to meet annual 24 hour requirement to all nursing assistants.
- Provides and coordinates mandatory annual in-services to all facility employees in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
- Completes monthly schedule for nursing assistants.
- Oversees nursing assistant staffing and staffs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Ensures all employee files are current with:
Yearly physical and TB screening
Yearly evaluation
CPR card
Fire Safety card
Licenses/certifications are valid and current
- Monitor, support, teach, and supervise nursing staff on established procedures, both clinical and theory, on an on-going basis including follow through with one-on-one teaching techniques as needed.
