QUOTED

“Today’s patients may expect to book a session with a physical therapist as easily as they order an Uber. Long waitlists or voicemail callbacks just don’t cut it anymore. Practices need real-time, self-scheduling, digital intake and next-day availability if they want to stay competitive.”

—Scott McAfee DPT ‘16 (pictured above) shares his expertise with APTA Magazine about digitizing today’s physical therapy operations to adjust to consumer trends in 2025. Another alumnus Todd Norwood DPT ‘11 also shares his perspective as someone who runs his practice entirely online.

We’re proud to highlight important new research from our faculty member, Dr. Jason Kutch, featured by USC News.

Dr. Kutch and his team are launching an NIH-funded neuroimaging study to better understand how the nervous system contributes to the severe and often unpredictable pain experienced by individuals with endometriosis. Their goal: to identify brain-based markers that can help clinicians predict who will benefit most from specific treatments for truly personalized pain care.

This work reflects the Division of Biokinesiology & Physical Therapy’s commitment to advancing science that improves lives through deeper insight into human movement, pain, and rehabilitation.
