Competitive games can bring out big emotions in kids, especially when everyone interprets the rules differently.📖One simple way to support fair play is to review the expectations before the game starts. When kids know what to expect, there’s less arguing, fewer “that’s not fair” moments, and more room for connection and fun. 🎲

Predictability helps everyone feel safer and more regulated, which means the game becomes about play, not stress. ✅

How do competitive games go in your home?

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a reminder that every child deserves to be understood for who they are, not who the world expects them to be. If your child moves differently through the world, I hope this post helps you feel supported and seen.💚

Parents often celebrate everyone else this time of year. But your effort, energy, and patience are part of the story too. Here’s a gentle reminder to notice the small wins, honor the hard days, and give yourself credit for the care you pour into your family.

Wishing you a warm and peaceful Thanksgiving!

End-of-day energy is real. Kids are tired, parents are tired, and bath time can quickly become overwhelming. What helps most is predictability: a simple routine, the bathroom already set up, doors closed to limit distractions. 🫧

Clean-up can become a game, and if they’re not ready to help, quietly removing toys as the water drains keeps things peaceful.🙏

The holidays mean full airports, long lines, and sometimes anxious travelers. If you or your child worry about flying, try setting up coping tools before your trip even begins.

Explain what the plane experience will be like, decide on a calming strategy you’ll use together, and remind them of the fun waiting for you once you land.

Small steps toward predictability can bring big comfort during holiday travel. ❤️✈️

When we slow down and really listen to our kids, something powerful happens. They stop bracing for correction and start opening up. Listening shows them that their voice matters, their feelings are safe, and we can handle what they need to say.

It’s not about having the right response. It’s about creating the kind of safety that makes them want to keep talking. 💚

Emotional check-ins don’t have to be heavy. Sometimes it’s a gentle question, a simple game, or sitting together in quiet. It’s those small daily moments that help kids feel seen and safe to share. 💬

When kids play out scenes that look aggressive, confusing, or even hurtful, it’s not necessarily a reflection of you or your parenting.

It’s their way of exploring emotions safely through pretend.

Try not to personalize the story. Ask questions, stay curious, and see what your child’s play is trying to tell you. 💛

If your child came home with a mountain of candy (and you’re already calculating the sugar intake 😅), try turning it into an opportunity for giving.

Many dentists and local organizations accept candy donations — and involving your child in that choice helps them see kindness in action. A little less sugar, a little more heart. 🍭

When siblings clash, whether it’s over toys or Halloween candy, our instinct is often to jump in and protect the “victim.” But in doing so, we can miss a powerful teaching moment. 💛

Take a breath. Separate calmly. Give both children space, and a voice.

When they feel heard, they learn how to solve problems together (not against each other).
