I am a Professor for the MFT program and the Associate Director of Community Partnerships at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology at the Los Angeles Campus. I am also a bilingual Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist currently seeing clients online and I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. In the past I was an adjunct professor with Argosy University, Cal State Dominguez Hills and CSUN. I worked with Counseling 4 Kids, The Help Group and Didi Hirsch providing quality mental health services to the low income Latino families as helping them is my inspiration to teach. My specialties include working with the Latino community in acculturation issues and communication, family therapy (Structural, Bowen and Satir), play therapy, and CBT Therapy with a Psycho dynamic View. I am accredited on a variety of modalities including EMDR Attachment Focused with the Parnell Institute. I am trained in Evidence Based Practice Models: Positive Parenting Program (Triple P, teen and standard), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Triple P), Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP), and Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Trauma in School (CBITS). I am also experience with peri natal and post natal mood disorders and a big interest in mother-child and caregiver-child relational issues. My purpose creating this page is to promote the activities I am involved in through the university and the community mental health and hopefully, to have you getting involved in them as well :-)

Our 2nd Su***de Prevention Walk was such a huge success in LA!!! We joined again the American Foundation of Su***de Prevention (AFSP) to build community and continue to erase the stigma of mental health. We didn’t expect such an amazing turn around. I told my students: I’m just gonna set a goal for 100 people to show up (laughing)… and they all helped to make it happen!!! We had 105 people joining and we raise 3,305$ this year in LA. Thank you all for the incredible support! Thank you to my family, all my colleagues: my work family!, my amazing students, school staff, friends and community members for just being there.

So happy with my work! Finding meaning always! The MFT Department hosted our second annual Walk to Feed OC Event. We found out that they are the first 0 waste food bank! they do not exclude anyone (regardless of where you live), they help many college students, and they help many after school programs providing fresh fruits and veggies. And... if you would not eat it, they will not be providing it (so it becomes compost).
Soon, we will be hosting our First Annual Virtual Food Drive to continue to make an impact as if our kids can't eat and our students can't eat... there is no mental health!
We do not just talk the talk. We WALK the WALK The Chicago School
