Nasturtiums are naturally very high in Vitamin C and lutein (excellent for eye health). Both flowers and leaves are edible and make delicious additions to salads. Today we harvested a pint jar full, covered with vinegar and in three weeks time we will have a strong, natural antibiotic that is excellent for treating colds, flu and coughs.

Yesterday was a magical day. I got to celebrate all of the docents who lovingly devote their time, expertise and wisdom to Las Angelitas —the organization that gives historical tours of El Pueblo de Los Angeles. Here I am again in my happy place at the luncheon honoring all of the docents at the Avila Adobe in El Pueblo de Los Angeles yesterday. Swipe right to see a familiar face —you’ll know who he is if you grew up in LA! Whenever I’m in the Pueblo I feel my are with me. It’s a good feeling. Remembering our and learning more each day. @ Avila Adobe

Last Tuesday I saw this beloved tree being removed from the plaza. 🌳💚💔

Since 1875, the four trees have formed a kind of compass circling El Pueblo de Los Angeles, the brick plaza where the city was founded, standing at points north and south, east and west. On March 2, the southern tree fell.
