In addition to my travel clinic, I also work at LAC+USC Medical Center. KPCC came by last week to sit in on the education class that I provide for our Hepatitis C patients as part of the treatment protocol.

L.A. County says patients should be drug-free for at least six months before getting hepatitis C medication. Medi-Cal recommends treatment for IV drug users.

Just a reminder to be viligant about using mosquito repellant! This is the first outbreak in this region since 1982.

An outbreak of dengue in Mombasa, Kenya, has been reported by the Kenyan Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation (MOPHS). Mombasa is the second-largest city in Kenya and is a major shipping port and tourist destination. This is the first identified dengue outbreak in Mombasa since 1982.

Starting today, AHF WeHo (8212 Santa Monica Blvd) will be offering FREE meningococcal vaccinations to anyone at risk or who think they may have been exposed.

The vaccinations are being offered in response to two fatalities (December) that have been linked to bacterial meningitis. Please PM me if you have any questions.
