South Central Los Angeles Regional Center - Advocates Advisory Committee South Central Los Angeles Regional Center WHEN: The Consumer Advisory Committee meeting is held on the fourth Monday of each month. TIME: 10:00 A.M.-12:30 P.M.

The purpose of the South Central Los Angeles Advocates Advisory Committee is to help community members become more aware of the issues that affect persons with developmental disabilities. The AAC members are comprised of South Central Los Angeles Regional Center consumers who identify topics that are important to us and invite speakers to our meetings to address these topics. Some of the topics include:

How to enroll in community college and receive financial aid


Independent living and how to find accessible housing for persons with disabilities

The public transportation system and services for persons with disabilities

How to make friends and access social/recreational activities. SCLARC’s Advocates Advisory Committee meetings are held as follows:

Great news!

Governor Newsom has signed ARCA’s sponsored bill AB 1172 (Nguyen) and two additional ARCA-supported bills, AB 341 (Arambula) and SB 258 (Wahab). These new laws represent major progress for nearly 500,000 Californians with developmental disabilities and their families.
Thank you to Governor Newsom, authors of the bills, members of the legislature and of course, our supporters for their dedication and efforts to get these bills signed into law.
