Dr Suzanne Pelka, Ph.D.

Dr. Pelka is also certified to practice EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) a powerful short-term therapy often used to help clients heal from traumatic experiences that cause PTSD-type symptomology. She has written chapters and articles for several publications concerning sexuality and reproductive technologies. She has been in practice since 2003, she trained in New York City (Mental Health Services at The Gay and Le***an Center), Chicago (The Center for Contextual Change) and in Los Angeles (The Center for Healthy S*x and at TEENLINE at Cedars Sinai Hospital). Dr. Suzanne Pelka earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors from UC Berkeley and her Ph.D. She is a Research Fellow at UCLA with The Center for Culture and Health, The Foundation for Psycho-cultural Research (the FPR) and The Center for Society and Genetics. Dr Pelka has been an instructor at UCLA, DePaul University, The University of Chicago, and Santa Monica College. Dr. Pelka is a good standing member with the California Association of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), The Society for the Advancement of S*xual Health (SASH), the American Anthropological Association (AAA), and the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals.
