Gavin Newsom has announced first-in-the-nation program providing free diapers for all new parents in California.

Beginning this summer, every newborn delivered at a participating hospital in the state will receive 400 diapers at no cost to families, with hospitals providing the diapers at the time of discharge.

We're continuing to highlight the incredible nurses in the Welcome Baby program. Families enrolled in the program receive a personal registered nurse who can visit them at home after leaving the hospital. Nurses provide valuable support by weighing and measuring the baby, monitoring their well-being, and answering any questions families may have during those early days.
