Today is National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. It’s a day to recognize the disproportionate toll of HIV on gay & bis*xual men and the resilience that has carried the community forward.

From the earliest days of the epidemic, fear and silence cost lives. But leaders like Larry Kramar, Pedro Zamora, and Vito Russo stood up, spoke out, and built something stronger together.

Their fight is not just history. It’s a reminder that when communities unite, real change happens. Today, gay men, and the entire LGBTQ+ community continue to speak out and demand better. We stand with the community today and every day.

HIV meds should never be out of reach. Today, AHF activists protested at Gilead Sciences HQ in Foster City, CA, to demand an end to price hikes that threaten lifesaving AIDS Drug Assistance Programs, which provide critical access to care for patients who need it most.

And in just 2 years, Gilead also nearly doubled the price of HIV drug Descovy, from $445 to $987. Enough is enough. ✊🏽
