Angel City Sports Adaptive sport opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments.

Angel City Sports provides year-round adaptive sports opportunities for children, adults and veterans with physical differences and impairments. The organization is focused on encouraging physical activity for people with disabilities and advancing the adaptive sports movement regionally and nationally in collaboration with programs such as US Paralympics, Adaptive Sports USA, and USA Track and Field. The annual Angel City Games debuted in 2015 as the organization’s signature event. Currently hosted at UCLA, the four-day event features clinics and competition in adaptive sports and activities including track & field, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, swimming and archery. Additional programs, clinics and events throughout the year cover an even wider range of adaptive sports and are open to people with physical differences including but not limited to: Paraplegia, quadriplegia, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, amputation, limb difference, visual impairment, short stature, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy. The organization also supports emerging school based programs through adaptive sports equipment rental, coaching education and athlete training.

Meet Bill Davis. World champion and Angel City Sports coach.
Legally blind, he has spent decades proving that limits exist only in the mind.

Bill has competed at elite levels in karate, boxing, football, swimming, track & field, cycling, Ironman events, marathons, indoor rowing, and golf. He's been named National Athlete of the Year, set college records, and won National and World Championships in cycling, indoor rowing, and golf.

Recently celebrating his 68th birthday, he's still training and competing at a world-class level. But his greatest achievement? Coaching the next generation of adaptive athletes and showing them that limits exist only in the mind. For over 20 years, Bill has organized instructional clinics with PGA professionals, and volunteered for the past eight years as an adaptive golf coach with Angel City Sports, mentoring athletes with physical, intellectual, and visual disabilities.

Through his coaching, he teaches more than technique; he teaches confidence, resilience, and the courage to overcome barriers.
Bill's story is proof that no obstacle is too great when passion leads the way. 💛

This Low Vision Awareness Month, we celebrate athletes like Bill while educating our community about the spectrum of visual impairment and the importance of creating adaptive sports opportunities for all.👁️✨
