The rest of the article is linked in my bio. I love their mission of sharing stories of healers and healing on their website. Head over to their website for my stories! 🎉 .com

I hear often that people seeking therapy and eating disorder recovery have constantly gotten the message that they’re too much. Because of that, they try to make themselves smaller and their emotions and actions smaller. Can you turn around your thoughts to show that if you’re too much for some, they’re too little for you? Or if you’re feeling too little, something might feel overwhelming. When people feel this way, they usually need to ground and reassess what is happening. The goal of therapy is partially to feel better and connect to yourself again rather than run away from it.

This month I wrote a blog post about GLP-1 agonists which are commonly known by their manufacturer names of Ozempic, Trulicity, etc. The eating disorder community rightly so has had a lot of negative things to say about these medications because they have worsened people’s eating disorders. Unfortunately, people who need these medications to manage a medical issue like diabetes and insulin resistance have been alienated and made to feel at times like they are going to relapse into their eating disorder histories by taking these medications when they need them to manage insulin levels. I wrote this blog post to create a more neutral pro and con list regarding these medications to allow people to have information about these medications and how they work so they can speak to their doctors and treatment teams to make the best decision for their bodies. Yes these medications can make eating disorders worse and no they are not a diet pill in and of themselves. Some people are using them as diet pills. Check out my link in bio to read more.
