Our Story
Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood provides internationally recognized patient care in nearly every medical specialty to more than 300,000 people each year from Los Angeles and around the world. Founded in 1955 as the primary teaching hospital for the UCLA School of Medicine (now the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA), the non-profit and self-supporting medical center is operated by the University of California Board of Regents. The new state-of-the-art hospital has 520 large, private patient rooms and employs 1,500 full-time physicians and more than 2,500 support staff. The facility is one of the first total replacement hospitals built to meet to California’s latest seismic safety standards. Official page of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
