For over sixty years, we have been serving the Jewish community of Los Angeles by honoring the deceased and serving the living with all of the respect dictated by our Jewish heritage and tradition. A special moment in our office recently as our colleague Kurt had tefillin wrapped. Tefillin are small leather boxes containing Torah passages, traditionally worn during weekday morning prayers, serving as a reminder to keep our minds, hearts, and actions aligned with faith and purpose.

Watching Kurt experience this sacred ritual at the office was truly meaningful—a beautiful reminder of connection, tradition, and reflection, even in our everyday spaces.

Shabbat Shalom! We are so proud of our General Manager, Randy, who stepped in to speak at Temple B’nai Emet while their Rabbi was under the weather in November.

His thoughtful words and presence reflected the values of care, community, and compassion that guide everything we do at Mount Sinai. Wishing everyone a peaceful and meaningful Shabbat.

Our amazing advisor, Steph, attended the Golda Project's event last month: Wine & Resilience, A Toast to Strength, Land and Sisterhood. The Golda Project raised funds for ReGrow Israel - rebuilding Israel's farming communities devastated by war. The Golda Project believes in the power of collaboration to drive positive change. We are proud to support like-minded organizations, businesses, and individuals who share our commitment to creating lasting social impact.

Congratulations to the Chabad Rabbis who participated in our cranking classes, certifying them to lower caskets here at Mount Sinai.

We recognize how important it is for our Rabbis to be the ones helping to gently lower the casket and we want to honor this incredibly sacred tradition.

This training helps ensure that everyone understands how our lowering devices work so that they can also safely take part in this activity.

Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills

Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries is the largest Jewish mortuary & cemetery organization in California. In 1954, Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills was formally consecrated as a Jewish Memorial Park and since 1964, we have been wholly owned by Sinai Temple of Los Angeles which dedicates its cemetery and mortuary services to the entire Jewish community of Los Angeles.

Providing for Jewish memorial and burial are among the most important commitments that a Jewish community makes to its members. That is our commitment to you.

Our two cemeteries, located in Simi Valley and the Hollywood Hills, offer a variety of burial choices including lawn spaces, wall crypts and family gardens. Because we own over 150 acres of undeveloped land in Simi Valley, we are prepared to meet the needs of the Southern California Jewish community for the next two hundred years.
