Cuando pensamos en probióticos, la salud gastrointestinal es lo primero que viene a la mente, pero sus beneficios van mucho más allá de eso.

Los probióticos son bacterias vivas que ayudan a balancear el microbioma de nuestro cuerpo, es decir ayuda a balancear los microorganismos que juegan un papel muy importante en todo, desde las respuestas de nuestro sistema inmune hasta la regulación inflamatoria.

Puedes agregar más probióticos a tu dieta con comida como el yogur, kéfir, chucrut, kimchi y otros alimentos fermentados. También se puede consumir en suplementos, pero es importante consultar con uno de nuestros médicos en ACHC antes de incluir algún suplemento nuevo en la rutina diaria.

Protein is everywhere these days — in bars, powders, drinks, even cereal. But how much do you actually need, and why does it matter?

Your body uses protein to build and repair tissue, support immune function, and keep muscles strong, especially as you age. But most adults in the U.S. already meet or exceed their daily needs.

So how much is enough? 🤔

For the average adult, aim for about 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. That’s roughly 60 grams a day for someone who weighs 165 pounds. If you're active, over 40, or recovering from illness, you may need closer to 75–90 grams per day.

💡 Quick rule of thumb: include 15–30 grams at each meal, and focus on whole food sources like lean meats, fish, eggs, beans, lentils, or low-fat dairy.

We are dedicated to providing comprehensive Primary Medical Care, Dental Services and Care Coordination, Behavioral health, and case management. ACHC has 3 locations, serving patients in the residential and commercial Westlake neighborhood in central Los Angeles with additional sites located in the city of Huntington Park and Gardena, in the south-central region of Los Angeles.
