May is Mental Health Awareness Month—a time to remember that a healthy mind matters just as much as a healthy body, especially as we get older.

Taking care of your mental health can be simple. Small moments like these can make a difference:

• A calming walk outside 🌿
• A call with someone you love 📞
• A few quiet minutes to just breathe 🌬️
• Time doing what makes you happy 🎨📚

Just like your muscles, your mind grows stronger with care. Let's build both— together!💪🧠

Sleep feeling a little off lately? 😴

Instead of turning in earlier, take a look at your evening habits. Small shifts like dimming lights and sticking to a steady routine can go a long way.

It's easy for things to pile up over time, whether it’s a stack of magazines here or a throw rug there. Clutter can make getting around challenging and harder to feel that sense of zen in your own space.

Here are a few tips that can make a big difference:

🚪 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: Keep walkways and doorways free of packages, small furniture, bags, or anything else that might get in the way

🔌 𝗧𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀: Electrical cords along the floor are sometimes hard to see and easy to trip on

🦶 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗴𝘀: A rug that slides or bunches underfoot is one of the most common causes of falls at home

💡 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘂𝗽: Good lighting in key spots around the house helps you see clearly and move with confidence

A few small changes can go a long way to making your home feel safer and easier to move around in every day.🌟

Stress has a way of sneaking into our lives. Big changes, small everyday worries. It can start to feel so familiar that we stop noticing it's there. Some even call it high-functioning anxiety—doing it all on the outside while carrying a lot on the inside.

It can show up in ways that are easy to miss:

• Racing thoughts or constant worrying 🌀
• Trouble sleeping or feeling extra tired 🥱
• Tension in your neck, shoulders, or back 🪨
• Hard to relax, even when you have the time 😬

The good news? There's plenty you can do. Simple habits like deep breathing, short walks, or jotting down your worries before bed can go a long way. And if you need a little extra support, a mental health professional can help you find your balance. With a few small steps, you can keep stress under control.

Check out UCLA Health’s 4-minute article to spot the signs of anxiety and helpful ways to manage it.

When is the last time you checked in with yourself? If you've been feeling more tired than usual, a little tense, or not quite like yourself, that's your cue to slow down.

April is Stress Awareness Month, and a good reminder that caring for your mental well-being is just as important as your physical health.

A few simple ways to feel your best:

🌿 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲: Five minutes of slow, steady breathing can calm your nervous system and bring your mind back to the present

🚶 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸: Fresh air and gentle movement are two of the simplest gifts you can give yourself

💬 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲: A warm conversation with a friend, family member, or care provider can lift your whole day

📵 𝗘𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗮 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Stepping away from screens and savoring a little stillness is its own form of self-care

You deserve the same kindness you give to others. Here's to feeling well—this month and every month! 🌟

Spring is a great time to move more. Better weather and more daylight make staying active easier, which helps support a longer, healthier life.💪

These sports can help you live longer by keeping you moving, balanced, and connected with others:

• Tennis: Ranked #1 for longevity in some studies, it’s a full-body workout that improves balance, strengthens bones, and keeps your brain sharp 🎾

• Swimming: Gentle on the joints, it builds strength, endurance, and overall fitness 🏊‍♂️

• Cycling: Supports heart health and leg strength, and can be done at many fitness levels 🚴‍♂️

Strength training can be simple, fun, and totally doable. One way to begin? Use your own body weight.💪

These exercises use your own body as resistance to build strength, improve balance, and support proper form so you can move with confidence. Here are 3 beginner-friendly exercises to try:

• Squats: Using a chair for support, strengthen your legs and hips to make everyday movements like standing or climbing stairs easier

• Incline pushups: Build your arms, chest, and core by using a wall, counter, or bench to control the difficulty

• Seated rows with a resistance band: Strengthen your upper back and shoulders to improve posture using slow, controlled movements

Aim for 10–15 reps of each and try training twice a week. Stick with it, and you’ll see results before you know it! 🌟
