What does it really mean when people say the brain keeps developing into the 30s?

In a recent appearance on On The Story on CNN, Mark Hrymoc, MD explains how research maps brain development across the lifespan.

From early childhood, to adolescence, to adulthood, the brain continues refining its efficiency and connections over time. Cognitive stability and peak performance tend to emerge later than many people expect, followed by gradual changes with aging.

Understanding how the brain develops can add helpful context to conversations around mental health, behavior, and personal growth.

“AI is a tool, not a therapist.”

During an appearance on The Story Is with Elex Michaelson on CNN, Mark Hrymoc, MD explains why AI cannot replace clinical care.
AI may sound supportive, but it is not trained to challenge or safely respond to harmful or delusional thinking — and in some cases, it may reinforce it.

A heartbreaking loss for the global mental health community.

Dr. Nolan Williams was one of the most visionary minds in neuroscience, his pioneering work on SAINT, an accelerated form of TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), has already changed countless lives and will continue to do so for generations.

In recent years, his groundbreaking research into ibogaine and other psychedelic-assisted treatments in psychiatry opened new frontiers of hope for those facing treatment-resistant conditions.

But beyond his brilliance, he was known as a deeply kind, curious, and generous human being, devoted to his family and to helping others heal. His passing is an unimaginable tragedy, and his light will be remembered in every life touched by his science and his spirit.
