Theresa Walker

Theresa Walker My lifelong love for the healing arts stemmed early on from a deep desire to understand and overcome my own personal challenges.

Over the years I have studied and practiced countless holistic modalities, spiritual and metaphysical teachings, and have been coached and mentored by incredible teachers and healers. In 2013, my journey led to HMI College of Hypnotherapy where I learned all about the fascinating workings of the subconscious mind. Now, as a Certified Hypnotherapist, I draw upon over 15 years experience using various therapeutic techniques and work intuitively to cater to my clients unique needs. I am passionate about sharing my learnings and hope to be a beacon of light for others. Hypnosis can assist whether you are dealing with weight issues, body image, low self esteem, fear, anxiety, stress, transition, or just seeking to awaken to a deeper sense of joy and purpose. It is my passion to help you succeed in your chosen goals and get clear on what that success means TO YOU. Why should you choose hypnotherapy? The answer is simple:

Because it works!

One of the most important things we can do right now is learn to regulate our stress responses and take full responsibility for our emotional well-being.

Sadly, this is often the last thing on our list. For many, it isn't even on the radar as something that should be a priority or equated with physical wellness, happiness, flow of abundance, and thriving relationships. I know it wasn’t for me for a long time.

But we can no longer afford to dismiss a calm nervous system as essential to our health on every level. Believe me, I’ve learned this the hard way.

Speaking of what we can’t afford, we don’t have to spend money to care for our nervous systems.

We can start by spending time in nature.
We can start by journaling daily.
We can start by using our imagination to travel to a peaceful place.
We can start by taking inventory of everything and everyone we are engaging with and noticing how we feel.

What are the stressors? What are the peacemakers? Is there room for adjustment here?

Tending to the health of our emotional state should be a daily practice. Especially in these intense times we are living.

I don’t care if its only two minutes a day. It’s not the amount of time, it’s the habit of practice and the consistency that will create the lasting results.

Consciously engaging in elevated emotional states such as joy, peace, gratitude, and calm is like a soothing elixir to our nervous system.

As we practice these feelings states regularly, we strengthen our immune system and optimize all functions of the body including our mental health.

And this is a job that we must do for ourselves. Certainly, there is plenty of excellent help out there to guide us along the way. But ultimately, we are the ones that must love ourselves enough to show up consistently and do the work.

Do you have a daily practice that supports calming your nervous system and emotional health?

There is truly is something special about the energy of the New Year. I’ve always loved it. I love the collective sigh of relief to have the Holidays behind us, and that strange little spacey time between Christmas and the New Year.

For me, this is usually a time for reflection, tying up loose ends, closing chapters, purging, making lists, intention setting, cleaning, and long walks to clear my head.

I don’t have to tell you 2020 was a stinker. The lessons may have been wildly varied, and some were hit harder than others, but no one came out untouched by the intensity of this year. And yes, it's effects are still unfolding. But, through the joy and the pain of it all, we made it. And that deserves sincere congratulations.

So, without trying to solve world peace right this minute: What feels like the simplest next step in this now moment to help you close out the chapter of 2020 and welcome the new energies of 2021?

*Do you need to watch a tear jerker movie and belly cry?
*Do you need a long afternoon nap with your floppy fur baby?
*Do you need to take a break from social media?
*Do you need to finally tell that guy/girl to buzz off?
*Call your bestie? Your therapist? Your business coach?

Maybe you don’t know what you need. That’s cool. Can you go for a walk and be with that? It’s truly ok not to know.

If you feel called for deeper support, I’ve significantly reduced my hypnotherapy rates for the month of January. This is a therapeutic setting, done remotely. There is no barking like dogs or clucking like chickens. Just you, me, and a co-creative process that facilitates your feeling very much better. That’s it. Dm me and we'll chat if this pings you.

Otherwise, Happy of happiest New Year dear hearts. I’m grateful to be on this crazy human roller coaster of a ride with each and every one of you. ❤

Calming the nervous system: Tip #4!!!

Noise pollution can be a chronic tax on the nervous system. Some people are better at tuning it out than others. I’m not one of those people. If you crave more quiet, and don’t live out in the countryside to get it-this can help.
