Healthy hearts heal wounds. ❤️ When circulation is strong, more oxygen and nutrients reach the tissue, helping chronic leg and foot wounds close faster and lowering the risk of infection and amputation. If you’re caring for patients with slow‑healing wounds, refer them for a specialized wound care evaluation today so we can help protect their heart, body integrity and quality of life.

Healing wounds with heart ♥️.
February is American Heart Month, and at PAS Wound Care our providers heal with both hand and heart—supporting better circulation, safer healing, and stronger lives for our patients.

UltraMIST is a non-contact low-frequency ultrasound therapy that uses a fine mist to help cleanse and treat hard‑to‑heal wounds, without touching the wound itself. This advanced technology is especially helpful for chronic wounds, diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, and other complex wounds that need more than standard care.
With PAS Wound Care, UltraMIST can be provided right at the bedside in your facility or care setting, helping reduce discomfort, support better healing conditions, and save staff time. Our wound care specialists work closely with your team to determine when this therapy is appropriate and how it fits into the overall plan of care.
📞 To learn more about UltraMIST and mobile wound care services, or to discuss a potential referral, contact PAS Wound Care.

5 things that SLOW wound healing 🚫🩹
1️⃣ Uncontrolled diabetes – High blood sugar damages blood vessels and weakens the immune system, leading to chronic, non-healing wounds.Uncontrolled diabetes – High blood sugar damages blood vessels and weakens the immune system, leading to chronic, non-healing wounds.
2️⃣ Poor circulation – When blood flow is reduced, your wound gets fewer nutrients, oxygen, and immune cells needed to heal.
3️⃣ Infection – Bacteria in the wound increase inflammation and tissue damage, slowing or even stopping the healing process.
4️⃣ Poor nutrition & dehydration – Low protein, vitamins, and fluids mean your body doesn’t have the building blocks to repair skin.
5️⃣ Smoking – Ni****ne chokes off blood flow and oxygen, making it harder for your body to repair tissue.

If your wound isn’t healing, don’t ignore it—early specialized wound care can prevent serious complications.

Is it time for a wound VAC? 🤔

Your provider may recommend a wound VAC when a wound is:

• Not healing with standard dressings

• Deep, open after surgery, or from trauma

• Draining a lot or at higher risk for infection

Negative pressure (vacuum) therapy helps remove fluid, reduce swelling, and promote healthy new tissue so wounds can close faster and safer.

Read our full letter to Santa ⬇️

Dear Santa,

This year, our wound care team has tried to be as kind, compassionate, and hardworking as possible in caring for patients and supporting our partner facilities.

As we reflect on the year, we wanted to share a special wish list from our wound care company to the North Pole.
• First, we wish for fewer chronic wounds and faster healing for every patient, especially the most vulnerable seniors in skilled nursing and long-term care.

• We wish for every facility to have access to specialized wound care expertise, so no patient goes without timely, evidence-based treatment.

• We wish for stronger collaboration and communication among providers, nurses, therapists, and families, so wound prevention and care become truly seamless.

• We wish for ongoing education, training, and resources for clinical teams, giving them confidence and tools to tackle even the most complex wounds.

• We wish for innovative technologies and products that are not only effective, but also accessible and sustainable for the facilities that need them most.
• We wish for fewer avoidable hospitalizations, less pain, and more comfort, dignity, and quality of life for every person we serve.

If your sleigh has any extra room, Santa, we would also love: more gratitude and recognition for the frontline nurses, caregivers, and wound care clinicians who work tirelessly all year; renewed energy and resilience for healthcare teams; and a 2026 filled with healing, hope, and healthier outcomes for our communities.

With appreciation and a little holiday magic,

PAS Wound Care
