In this week's “60 Highlights for 60 Years” series, we’d like to spotlight Community Services, Partnerships and Inclusion.

A fundamental and core value - in fact, our very mission - is to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities can lead productive, inclusive lives as active members of their community. This means that people supported by the regional center have the right to receive the necessary support and services in their own community, in integrated settings, with typical peers; learning skills, developing relationships, and earning livable wages.

To make this possible, Lanterman partners with its local community by developing relationships and resources, making referrals and sharing information.

Annually, we host a three-part Transition to Adulthood Conference and in-person Resource Fair that brings together individuals served, their families, service coordination staff and our community partners to share information, referrals and make connections!

The conference provided information about transition services through schools, generic resources, and regional center services available post education. The resource fair featured vendors that provide in-home support services, independent living services, supported living services, Special Education Law Clinic, school district partners, FACTs Program, employment service providers, and our very own Client Advisory Committee!

To learn more about the transition to adulthood and adult services available through Lanterman, visit https://lanterman.org/client-and-family-services/adult/

And check out the great photo highlights from our resource fair.

POST 2 OF 60

Journey alongside us through our “60 Highlights for 60 Years” social media series that will showcase the people, professionals, partnerships and community that make up Lanterman Regional Center. We will share information and resources, elevate the people behind and at the forefront of our system, and spotlight achievements and advancements.
