Just got back yesterday from Reno, Nevada after a couple days with my daughter and her family. We helped them settle into their new home and prepped for baby #5 who’s due later this month.

Grandkid highlights:ā€ØšŸ‘‰ Annabel kicked off 6th grade at her new school yesterdayā€ØšŸ‘‰ Aalish and August are homeschooling this yearā€ØšŸ‘‰ Ambrose is living his best little-kid lifeā€ØšŸ‘‰ Andrew, my daughter Michelle’s husband, started school as he begins a new career after the Army

Moments like these remind me to keep moving forward, wherever you’re at in life.

Sweaty smiles + stubborn lungs = National Latina Day 5k complete āœ…šŸ‡µšŸ‡·

My best friend, , and I tackled the 5k together with a walk/run combo. Both of us are still feeling the aftereffects of COVID from last week, and the humid LA warmth didn’t exactly make it easy. But we showed up, laughed through it, and got it done side by side.

This year’s theme is ā€œUnstoppable in Her Power,ā€ and today was a reminder of that unstoppable force Latinas bring everywhere, from the track to the boardroom, from the classroom to the community.

Some days it’s not about speed or perfection… It’s about celebrating your culture, your health, and the people who matter most.

This week took an unexpected turn… I tested positive for COVID on Tuesday morning and it hit me hard. Body aches, chills, fever, congestion, and all the rest.

Friday was the first day I finally felt good again, and I can’t even explain how grateful I am for a body that knows how to heal.

This photo reminds me that even when the climb feels brutal, your body is on your side. This was my first time getting COVID, and I’m reminded how much I appreciate feeling strong and healthy.

If you’ve been sick recently too, I see you. Rest, hydrate, eat simply, and move gently. Your body is on your sidešŸ’™

When Slowing Down Feels Harder Than Speeding Up

This post from another athlete hit me hard:

ā€œI used to run in the high 7s... Now I’m following a 10-week plan that’s slower than the mid 9s. It’s messing with my head. I know there’s a reason, but it’s hard to let go of ego and trust the process.ā€

I’ve been there. Still am.

As a coach rebuilding after injury and burnout, I know what it’s like when your body doesn’t do what it used to. Whether it’s pace, strength, fat loss, or just moving without pain, progress often feels too slow.

But those slower days serve a purpose:

• Build efficiency
• Prevent injury
• Reduce stress
• Support long-term consistency

This applies whether you’re running, lifting, recovering, or just working on showing up again.

The mental game is real, but you’re not alone in it.
