What if your symptoms are actually your body’s way of speaking?
Emotions are often at the root of a lot of our symptoms and even health conditions.
Here’s what most doctors won’t tell you:
Stuck emotions remain buried and will eventually turn into a symptom.
After a prolonged amount of time, they can manifest as full-blown illness.
I’ve seen this play out in my own body and in the hundreds of women I’ve worked with.
That flare-up after a stressful week? Not a coincidence.
The key is processing the emotions as they arise.
Neuroscience says that an emotion and its physiological response lasts ONLY 90 seconds.
It’s the stories we attach to that emotion that linger in our body, causing us to feel sick.
Practice this when you’re feeling triggered:
1️⃣Name the emotion (anger, fear, grief—be specific)
2️⃣Separate fact from feelings (what actually happened vs. what you’re telling yourself)
3️⃣Give yourself what you need to feel comforted (a hand on your heart, music, tea, a moment of stillness)
4️⃣Let it go (release the story, not the lesson)
5️⃣Deep breathing—as you exhale, imagine the emotion floating away from you like smoke
It takes practice, but keep at it and soon you will become a master of your emotions instead of them ruling you.
According to research published in Frontiers in Psychology, emotional suppression is directly linked to chronic inflammation and autoimmune flare-ups. Women who practice emotional regulation techniques show measurable decreases in inflammatory markers within weeks.
