So my (who lives back in Louisiana) said she was getting physical therapy for some lower leg pain, especially if she crossed her legs. X-rays showed some degeneration in the spine and “physical therapy” didn’t help so he assumed the pain was coming from the back. When I asked my mom if anyone did any hands on massage to check out the muscles she said “no.” Seriously? This pain can be coming from entrapped nerve and/or tight muscles in the lower legs. In many elderly people there is a ton of congestion and tightness in the back of the knees and this can lead to tight calf muscles and entrapped nerves. It’s lazy not the do the hands on work to check such things out but maybe I just know more than others PTs. Well I’ll be taking care of my mom’s problem when I see her again and I’ll be sending her some exercise videos to see if she can be helped remotely.

Due to covid-19 I am no longer seeing my elderly clients in their homes. Whether I believe I can infect them or not I'll be held accountable for taking the risk.
