From Struggle to Strength: The 4 Stages of Recovery

Recovery is more than just breaking old habits, it’s about rebuilding life, step by step. Every person’s journey is unique, but many experience these four stages of transformation:

1️⃣ Precontemplation: Not everyone starts by recognizing the problem. Denial, resistance, or fear can feel overwhelming.
2️⃣ Contemplation: Awareness sparks. You begin to see the possibility of change, even if it feels uncertain or scary.
3️⃣ Preparation & Action: This is where the shift happens. Reaching out, making plans, and taking concrete steps toward healing.
4️⃣ Maintenance: Recovery is a daily practice. New habits, healthy routines, and community support become the foundation for long-term growth.
