Are you getting enough fiber? Probably not. Here's why it's important and how you can start eating more.

Short term changes to weight on the scale don't show the whole picture. It's possible (in the short term) to be gaining weight even if you're losing fat.

Our goal with weight loss is to lose fat, and we know that fat loss is determined by how many calories you eat and how many you burn.

Weight on the scale is not ONLY determined by calories, though. It's also largely water.

Carbs, sodium, fiber, etc., can affect how much water you have stored.

If you're doing everything right but your scale weight doesn't go down in the short term, there are two possibilities:

1) you need to reassess to make sure you're following the right approach, or
2) you just need to give it enough time to show

There have been so many times when working with my clients where they get super stressed because they don't lose a ton of weight in the first week of the program. That's normal. You're making changes and sometimes your body responds weirdly to change.

Given enough time, the cumulative effects of the effort put in leads to the fat loss we want because the approach is focused on FAT LOSS, not just losing a ton of water weight right away.

Focus on the approach rather than just the scale weight.

Those who tell you not to listen to science... don't understand science.

Not all research is created equal

The issue is that people will have a belief, then use AI to search “find me a study that confirms my belief” and they’ll find something that somewhere in there says “this thing caused a bad outcome”

The issue is, that’s not how interpreting research works -you can’t just read a headline

These people don’t know how to check if the study was performed on humans or on rodents, if the methods used to test their hypotheses were the right methods for the outcome they wanted, if the study was a 20-year observational study, or a 12-week randomized interventional study…

They don’t know how to tell if the statistical analyses they performed on their data were the right analyses, if they made adjustments that might skew things, they don’t know where the conflict of interest statement is, or how to tell if that conflict might’ve actually affected how the study was performed or not…

And it is a fault of their own lack of understanding of this process that they say to throw it all out
