Thank you so much for joining the workshop!! Such an afternoon filled with focus and passionate energy!!

In this workshop, I shared how the mindfulness practice supports your mental and emotional health. So essential and benefitial to better understand thier benefits before jumping into arty expression. Because mindfulness is far more than being present, and the same applies to Mindful Art, which offers so much more than relaxation. When practiced with intention, it opens up extraordinary opportunities for self-discovery and personal growth.

Also shared the power of visual language and the concept of the emotional iceberg. Your emotions often extend far beyond what is visible on the surface. Engaging with visual language allows you to explore the deeper layers of your experiences, helping you unwind and untangle your ingrained thoughts, which can be both therapeutic and healing.

Here are some of their reflections and feedback.

- It was peaceful.
- Felt so good!
- Understanding the emotional iceberg was very helpful. I understand now why I was acting the way I was acting. My perspective has shifted.
- I tried something new today!! Yay!
- The reflective questions were very insightful.
- You know when you know what you need to do to accommodate your needs, and that’s inner knowing.
- This is a great way to challenge your comfort zone. Knowing your comfort zone helps so you can take better care of yourself.

I believe our intention for the workshop was well received.

Shared Mindful Art in the 3rd grade classroom today. Wow, a lot of students opened up about their stress and anxieties. Some even said they feel that way every day!

They were super engaed in this activity “Follow an object”, exploring their curiosities. It was heartwarming to see them feel calm afterward and witness their unique expressions 💜

This paper is your safe place. Free from judgements. You don’t have to perform. You don’t have to please anyone else, but you. Just follow your curiosity and what makes YOU feel good.

One of my intentions for creativing these contents is of course to share Mindful Art activity ideas, that can be fun and relaxing. More imporrtantly I hope to inspire you to step out of the paper eventually. In addition to finding joy in creating mindful art, this practice encourages you to learn how to make mindful choices from a place of love rather than fear in everyday life, helping you to express who you really are and live life in harmony with your beliefs and values.

It was absolutely amazing to see how focused everyone was! Remember, stress and anxiety are not just for adults—kids experience them too! Learning to manage these emotions and create a sense of calm, you can take charge of those feelings instead of letting them overwhelm you and your life.

Another wonderful Mindful Art workshop!! Glad they all enjoyed it last weekend. They were so focused, getting into their creative flow. Also experienced qualities like calm, self-empowerment and positivities in art making process.

Creative flow makes you forget time (in a good way). They didn’t want to stop. Hope that we can do a longer art making session next time!

The next local Mindful art workshop is scheduled for 9/27, 3-4pm at LG library. This is for youth 7-12 yrs old. I will be sharing “Follow and object”.

A few weekends ago, I facilitated Oyster Shell Decoupage Art WS at one of the local libraries. Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to take photos of the room and participants but we had a full house of 20 participants!

Mindful art practice enriches several areas of mindfulness practices including :

⚫︎self-awareness
⚫︎self-discovery
⚫︎personal growth

And transforming recycled or discarded materials into your own kind of art can help develop problem-solving and transformation skills, that enhance your personal growth.

So in this workshop, people decorated oyster shells using paper napkins. After this experience you’ll never look at oyster shells and paper napkins the same ways. Shells are not necessarily trash. Paper napkins are not only for wiping mouth and tables. And you’ll rather see them in a whole new light, discovering their potential and resources. With your creativity, you can spark transformation and apply this artistic approach in your everyday life!

Everyone was all new to oyster shell art and showed great passion and focus while creating their pieces. The room was filled with positive energy, joy, and smiles. It was so wonderful to witness their organic communication and sharing that took place during and after the event.

My passion for sharing the love of Mindful Art and promoting creative self-care is growing more and more every day!
