Just want to shine the spotlight on our girl Amber for a minute!

Amber is a client turned friend turned repeat client and she just had her second baby with us beginning of this year 💗

Amber does sooo much behind the scenes to help me keep Moonlight Midwife running smoothly! She assists me at births, she helps me with my social media, she helps me with my boys so I can be at births, and she helps me with any office tasks I need. She even came with me to a birth on Christmas Day at 39 weeks pregnant. She always goes above and beyond for my practice and my family and we just want to show her all of our love and appreciation. Thanks for you all you for us!! ✨

Here is our 2025 in review. It was our busiest year yet - but a hard year to say the least. Moonlight Midwife has been serving East Tennessee families for almost 6 years now! 🙌🏻 We post these statistics yearly for transparency to our clients and potential clients so they can make informed decisions about their care.

We had so many complicating factors this year. So much gestational diabetes, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, a few incredibly long transition stages for some of our first time moms, and we had the most cesareans we’ve had so far. Our most common reason for transferring in labor was maternal exhaustion/pain relief for therapeutic rest.

We had one family risk out of care for fetal anomalies discovered at the anatomy scan halfway through the pregnancy. We’d like to honor this family who tragically lost mom to an extremely rare, unpreventable and sudden complication close to the time of delivery and devastatingly lost baby a couple weeks later after the delivery. We will forever remember Joelle and baby Samuel 🤍

This year had some bright notes as well. We were able to expand our practice and our travel radius, we have a second office available for our clients, and the midwives are getting some much needed time off-call each month. We averaged five births the last four months of the year and it feels much more manageable with a little bit of time off-call!

Some practice firsts:
*we had our first vaginal birth after two cesareans!
*we had an uncomplicated (over the phone) precipitous breech delivery!
*we had two babies born four minutes apart!
*we had our first Christmas Day baby
*we had our first NYE baby
*we had our first families that we’ve helped catch three of their babies!

We are beyond grateful for everyone who entrusted us for their care this year and we are already looking forward to all of our 2026 families! 💗

We welcomed one more baby just in the nick of time for 2025 🖤! And he will always have a party on his birthday 🎉🥳🎊

This first time homebirther had a very quick labor early this morning and she did such a fabulous job bringing her sweet boy here! We are always so thrilled when clients transfer late into care and get the birth of their dreams 🤩 You are so loved baby boy 🩵

Happy birthday, sweet baby boy 💚❤️ Our first Christmas baby in six years!

This family returned to us once more, their third journey shared with our hands and hearts, and we were deeply honored to witness it again. Mama listened closely to her body, trusting its wisdom, allowing it to guide him gently down. With only two pushes, he made his way into the world.

Big brother stood by the birth pool, watching in awe, while big sister joined us shortly afterwards. Surrounded by love, he arrived exactly as he was meant to.

Little one, you are so deeply loved. Our hearts are full, and we are endlessly grateful that you are here.
