Employee Appreciation Week at Louisa Health & Rehab was a fun and meaningful celebration of the hardworking team who give so much every day. The week was filled with themed treats and activities, starting with a crowd-pleasing Pizza Day, followed by a festive Taco Tuesday. Staff enjoyed a sweet midweek boost with Waffle Day and were recognized with thoughtful gift bags to show gratitude for their dedication. The celebration continued with Wings and Jersey Day, bringing energy and team spirit, and wrapped up with a refreshing Ice Cream Social that gave everyone a chance to relax and connect. It was a wonderful way to recognize the compassion, commitment, and teamwork that make Louisa Health & Rehab such a special place.

The dedicated team at Louisa Health & Rehabilitation Center proudly extends its compassion beyond the walls of its facility by actively volunteering throughout the Louisa community this month. From supporting the local resource council and participating in the community fun Reality Store at Louisa County Middle School to connecting with future professionals at the job fair at Louisa County High School, staff members consistently give their time and energy to make a meaningful impact. Their commitment to service reflects the same kindness, empathy, and teamwork they bring to their residents every day, helping to strengthen and uplift the entire community.

Taylor has been named Employee of the Month for April for her exceptional work as a CNA, and this recognition is truly well‑deserved. Since the day she joined our team, she has grown tremendously—developing not only her clinical skills, but also her confidence, communication, and presence with residents. Taylor approaches each shift with patience and calm, even in the most challenging moments, and she consistently shows a genuine eagerness to learn and improve. Her residents feel cared for, respected, and supported because she always goes the extra mile, offering compassionate, above‑and‑beyond care. Taylor’s dedication and steady growth have made her an invaluable part of our community, and we are proud to honor her hard work, commitment, and heart. A longtime native of Louisa, she brings the best of the community to her residents each day she works. Fun fact, she is a graduate of Louisa County High and was a wrestling champ during her tenure. She enjoys taking care of people and is working on her medical degree and staying in the field when she completes it.

Please join us in thanking our amazing Social Worker & Discharge Planner, Nancy Purgason!!

She has been with us for almost a year now and is making a great program to support both our short-term and long-term patients. Her ability to listen with a kind ear and follow up with the biggest sunshine of a smile truly makes people’s day! Nancy is an amazing cook, she is known to bring a sweet treat just when you need it!

She is a big JMU fan as a graduate and is known for taking long and fun walks with her pup, Boone.
