Please join us in congratulating Shanika Smith as our March Employee of the MONTH! She moved to join our community from the Virginia Beach area when she decided she needed to get back home to Louisa.
She was referred by some of her family members in the nursing and environmental services department to come on home, and while her baseline had been traveling, she took a leap of faith and decided to take a permanent position on our short term skilled unit.
Fast forward to her being a permanent/solid part of our building, making patients and families very comfortable and happy with her care, to leading her CNA team in a very intentional and approachable manner.. She is really impacting us every day!
When you ask her fellow team members about her, they will say she is kind, patient, and caring. As a dedicated nurse, she truly advocates for her patients with empathy and a caring heart. She isn't afraid to fight hard to get answers, follow-ups, or to lend a helping hand to ANY department or team member.
She is known to roll up her sleeves and jump in at any time someone needs her. Shanika gained notoriety as our very own Fiona during the Annual Boo Fest, helping her Unit win the prize for best decorated as Shrek's Swamp!
Our building is a special place because she is here, and our short and long term residents alike recognize her for her big smile, listening ear, and impact.

Louisa Health & Rehab celebrated St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ with a series of festivities. The day commenced with an all-day trivia event, offering participants the opportunity to win exciting prizes. Additionally, residents and staff participated in a leprechaun hunt, where they were tasked with locating 100 miniature leprechaun pictures. The individual who discovered the most pictures was awarded a special lunch with the administrator. In contrast, the staff faced a more challenging hunt, requiring them to find 24 St. Patrick’s Day ducks.

We're just a short drive from Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital and have been proudly serving the Louisa community since 1984. We also serve patients in the greater Louisa area including Mineral, Trevilians, Cuckoo, and more.

We offer comfortable, modern gathering spaces, Wi-Fi throughout the building, and bright, well-lit rooms. Our state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym is constantly being updated with the most advanced rehabilitation equipment, ensuring the best recovery possible.
