Congratulations to Maria Parham Franklin’s August Employee of the Month, Melissa Martinez!

This is Melissa’s SECOND time as our EOM! She is the supervisor for our Environmental Services team here at Franklin, and she received numerous nominations from coworkers in every department here at the hospital. She is a very hard worker who always goes above and beyond to make sure everybody has what they need, always getting the job done. Melissa is respectful, kind, caring, and always walks around with a smile on her face. She comes in early and works late when there’s staffing needs, and she’s always looking for ways to go the extra mile.

Congratulations, Melissa! We truly couldn’t do it without you!

Yesterday afternoon, we attended the Franklin County NC Health Department’s 3rd Annual Back to School Bash! Attendees had the opportunity to practice hands-only CPR, thanks to Kim Reed. We’re wishing everyone a safe and successful school year ahead!

Yesterday evening, our team attended Louisburg Police Department’s National Night Out! We had a great time connecting with the community and want to thank LPD for having us again!

Pardon our Progress 🚧 Construction is underway for our Emergency Department renovation! Our emergency/main entrance remains open with no changes to patient access. This project will create a safer, more supportive space for those facing behavioral and mental health challenges.

Yesterday we had the honor of presenting a $5,000 donation to First in Families of North Carolina, alongside our premier sponsor Vaya Health, with the proceeds raised from our Stomp the Stigma 5K held this past May.

First in Families of North Carolina (FIFNC) helps people with disabilities and their families believe in their dreams, achieve their goals, and give back to others. They are a family support initiative founded by families looking for new ways to provide and receive support. This donation will go directly towards supporting Franklin County community members in need of mental and behavioral health assistance.

We’d like to give a huge thank you to Elliot Clark (Vaya Health; Regional Director of Community Relations), Dennis Morgan (First in Families; Regional Quality Manager) and Debby Wells (First in Families; Deputy Director). Also, thank you again to everyone who participated in our first-annual 5K and helped make this support possible. We look forward to seeing everyone next year on May 30, 2026!

We have exciting News from Maria Parham Franklin!
Starting later this month, we’re launching a renovation of our Emergency Department to better serve patients facing behavioral and mental health challenges. This project will create safer, more supportive spaces without disrupting hospital operations.
We're also building a new Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to offer continued behavioral health support — both projects are expected to be completed by September 2025.
Thanks to strong community partnerships and local funding, we’re making meaningful strides in mental health care.

Yesterday we celebrated our Maria Parham Franklin Employee of the Month recipients for June AND July! Congratulations to Traci Miller for being our June EOM and Jeanette Mann as our July EOM! Both have stepped up in a time of need to fill in for a coworker who had to go out unexpectedly.

“Traci is newer to the team, but has fit in from day one. She learned intake quickly and when asked to step in for Merry, she was eager to learn. She is a great asset and goes above and beyond.”

“Jeanette is such a compassionate nurse. Watching her with her patients and teammates, you can see how thorough she is and how much she cares. When Merry went out, she quickly volunteered to help. She always helps those in need.”
