PCMH and The Louisiana Betterment Committee are partnering together to wear purple to remember individuals who have passed away from overdose, acknowledge the grief of their loved ones, and raise awareness regarding prevention.

We’re proud to share that Chris Smith has been named the new Director of EMS at Pike County Memorial Hospital and will start this position on September 2nd!

Chris has worked in EMS for 15 years and has been part of the PCMH family since 2018 as both a paramedic and supervisor.

Before joining us, he gained valuable experience working in St. Louis, MO. Over the years, Chris has not only responded to emergencies and cared for patients, but he has also taken on leadership roles that helped strengthen our EMS program.

He has developed continuing education and training opportunities for our EMS crews, led quality improvement and state compliance efforts, and guided the process of updating equipment.

As Director of EMS, Chris is looking forward to continuing his focus on consistency within the department and building strong teamwork with other emergency agencies in the area. His commitment to our hospital and to the people of Pike County makes him a great fit for this role.
