📖 What we’re reading at CBA
This book challenges us to look beyond behavior alone and consider how values, flexibility, and internal experiences shape real change.
Because better learning for us = better outcomes for those we serve.

This is what learning can look like. ☕❤️
Functional skills, real interactions, and confidence growing one step at a time.

There is no standard number of ABA hours at CBA.
There is only what each specific learner needs.
Our recommendations range from 4 to 36 hours per week. Every treatment plan is individualized, not prescribed from a template.
We don’t guess.
We assess.
We adjust.
Real progress necessitates precision.
That’s our standard.

In behavior analysis, it’s easy to focus on what we see.
But what matters most is what we understand.
Behavior is communication, and when we take the time to truly listen, we create opportunities for meaningful, lasting change.
That’s the work. 🧡

Assent-based care means we pay attention to more than just participation. We pay attention to willingness.
At CBA, we look for signs of engagement, comfort, and readiness to learn. And when those aren’t present, we don’t push, we adjust.
Because meaningful progress comes from trust, connection, and teaching in a way that respects the individual.

Choosing the right people for your family isn’t a small decision.
Families come to CBA looking for support, but they stay because of the way we approach the work.
We want to take the time to understand behavior, build meaningful skills, and support the entire family.
We believe in doing things the right way:
✔ Thoughtfully
✔ Consistently
✔ With high standards that don’t waver
Because getting it right matters.

We’re committed to growing—not just as clinicians, but as a team.
Recently, we had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Rob Pennington during our first in-house continuing education session in 2026. His insights challenged us, strengthened our thinking, and reinforced the importance of individualized, thoughtful care.
At CBA, learning isn’t a one-time event. It’s part of who we are.

Our CBA team got into the Halloween spirit this week — costumes, creativity, and a whole lot of smiles! 🧙♀️🦸♂️🕷️
Our clients practiced their trick-or-treating skills before the big night, and we had a blast with face painting, spider hunts, pumpkin painting, and more! 🎃
Events like this help our kiddos build confidence and practice important skills they can take with them when they go trick-or-treating with their families. 💙
We’re so proud of all our clients — and our staff who went all out to make this a magical (and spooky!) day! 👻✨
Keep an eye out for a chance to vote in our door decorating competition!

CBA was formed by Jason Simmons in 2000 to venture into community-based behavior analysis & therapy services. He began by providing services to two families in Indiana who struggled with autism. Jason provided behavior analysis services full-time at a local hospital 5-6 days a week while seeing community participants after hours while building the first Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) community service agency in Kentucky. Because of his passion and desire for individuals to benefit from these meaningful behavior services he was able to help many participants avoid institutionalization, acquire necessary skills to go back to school or work and ultimately, contribute to their own communities in meaningful ways. Eventually, CBA served more than 3500+ participants and currently employs over 80+ professional staff members.
CBA is the first organization in Kentucky to provide community-based ABA and Positive Behavior Support (PBS) services from a scientist-practitioner model including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to the broader community across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. From 2000 – present CBA employed the first set of qualified BCBA(s) in Louisville where we began the first community fieldwork program for BCBA candidates and opened an ABA clinic in Germantown, KY. CBA is in-network with many collaborators with specialization in assessment and treatment of severe behavior disorders for individuals labeled with autism and intellectual & developmental disabilities. CBA also specializes in providing necessary, functional and higher-level skill sets to our participating clients.
In 2006, CBA expanded services to the San Antonio and Austin, Texas region and opened a clinic in San Antonio for ABA Therapy, Speech and OT services. CBA received provider achievement awards for excellent services in 2010 & 2011 from the Alamo Area Council of Government (AACOG), for innovative contributions to ABA services provided.
In 2008, while in Texas, Jason and his wife Robin had a daughter born with Liccensechaly which further developed their service model of parent training and the importance of treating the family as a unit having experienced in-home therapy from a parent’s perspective rather than providing it. Jason and Robin’s love for Louisville, opportunities for work, and opportunities for care and quality of living for their three daughters brought them back to Louisville in December 2011. Texas services were completed as of March 2012 and all energies now are being put forth into providing the best quality of service in the state of Kentucky.
Currently, CBA is remodeling a beautiful 13,000 sq. ft. facility that will be the first “Center for Behavior Analysis” in this region of the country, implementing a mission and vision based on the same values that helped form the company nearly 20 years ago.
