We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Lauren Flaherty, a neuropsychology fellow, researcher, and founder of PhrenD™ — an app created to support individuals experiencing cognitive impairment due to conditions like early dementia, brain injury, stroke, trauma, or post-COVID brain fog.

Dr. Flaherty brings a holistic and research-based approach to treatment, providing neuropsychological assessments and therapy for patients of all ages. With a passion for community wellness, her work particularly focuses on addressing cognitive issues disproportionately impacting the African American community.

Join us in welcoming Kathryn Cowart, a licensed professional clinical counselor with over 15 years of experience in mental health counseling and program leadership.

Kathryn currently serves as Chief Programs Officer at JFCS and has a rich background in trauma-informed care, art therapy, and clinical supervision. Her work supports children, families, and communities in their healing journeys across Kentucky.

At MindFest 2025, Kathryn will lead a gentle yoga session designed to center the mind, body, and spirit — creating space for mindfulness, breath, and balance.

Meet Shermeka Wallace — Certified Social Worker, Targeted Case Manager, and mental health advocate. Through her work with Louisville Family Justice Advocates and the Special Arts Project, she empowers individuals and communities to build resilience, access resources, and improve mental health outcomes.

Shermeka specializes in early intervention, wellness consulting, and psychoeducation—supporting those facing anxiety, depression, and related challenges through workshops and strengths-based strategies.
