Lots of chatter on our team lately about what helps create an environment for successful VBAC!

Just this year, our team has supported several successful VBAC stories! Above are some of the things these mothers have implemented.

Some additional thoughts :

• don’t be afraid to switch providers
• look up stats of where you are giving birth as well as VBAC stats on the specific provider you are using
• understand you can also have a successful VBAC at home
• believe your body can do it!
• educate, educate, educate!

When you can understand that the goal of labor is to work with your body and not against it, progression happens and a baby is born.

One of the most repetitive things we say to women is to push tension out and away. Open up. Loosen your jaw. Open hands. Do whatever you can to make yourself feel weightless. Just like you’re floating. Working with your body. Bringing your baby earth side. Dropping your baby deep into your pelvis.

It's beautiful that our bodies were designed to do this— and that every inch of our body is so intertwined.

“Before I was pregnant, I was always intrigued by the idea of a natural birth. I admired the strength of women who had done it, though I never knew if I would be one of them. After a whirlwind pregnancy, I learned that it would be my only option—an epidural wasn’t possible for me. That’s when I knew I needed a doula.
A few hours after welcoming our son into the world, my husband said it best: “Olivia is a part of our family now.”
Birth was both terrifying and magical all at once.
Olivia made the weeks leading up to labor—and the entire birthing process—feel safer and calmer. What will stay with me forever is her encouragement. Through a brutal 40+ hour labor, it was what truly kept me going. She prayed over us multiple times, gave me the tough encouragement I had asked for, and never once let me quit. I know with complete certainty that those days would not have been the same without her.
I owe so much to laboring naturally. Feeling my body bring our son into the world was the most magical experience of my life. I have never felt closer to the Lord than I did during pregnancy and in those first moments meeting our son. It changed me forever—teaching me that I am capable of more than I ever imagined, and that the Lord is always in control. That experience has made me a better person.”
