Auggie is on the mend!

We ended up taking two ER trips with the flu, since he had good fevers, to get antibiotics to prevent any line infection. But we were otherwise able to manage him at home like a normal kid with the flu.

It has circled around the whole family at this point and we are ready for the germs to leave our house!

Word to wise, stay home if you’re not feeling good, wash those hands, and may the odds be in your favor!

They let us come home. Flue A, just like everyone else. Thx for all the positive thoughts. Here is a sleepy Auggie:

Special request.

Biggest brother Nolan tested positive for Flu A on Saturday night. Mommy tested positive for Covid Sunday night. Zane woke up sick this morning but not positive for anything yet. But he’s got a fever.

With Auggie still having his port, if he gets a temp of 100.4 or higher, we still need to go to the ER, even if we know he’s got the flu or something similar.

Please send all the prayers and good vibes that we can avoid Auggie getting sick. We literally kept Auggie home for like the past month to keep him from getting sick and missing his bell ringing. But sometimes these things just happen and they can’t be prevented.

Our last dose of chemo!!!!

And look how far he’s come! A year ago he had a tube in his nose and wouldn’t take a single med by mouth; now he gives himself most of them.

I can’t even begin to express my gratitude right now for all the words that have been spoken today on our behalf. We are overwhelmed with emotions at our house and I hope we start the process of, well, processing them.

Please know that we have seen every comment, reaction, share, text, message, everything today and we love each and every one of you.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We plan to livestream. We’ll try to start between 10:45 and 11:00 ET (Louisville time, so our BG peeps, 9:45-10:00!). We wish everybody could be there! So many have been cheering us on from day one and we want them to hear this bell being rung for them too!

We can’t wait!!

Party week! Last lumbar puncture today, last dose of chemo Friday.

He said he’s gonna ring the bell so hard on Friday that “everybody’s gonna hear it!”

Ring that bell as loud as you want sweetheart, you deserve it!

If you read our last post (and it was long, so kudos to you if you read the whole thing) you know we're wanting to honor our church and Auggie's journey by updating the playground. Here's our idea!

If we can purchase the plans and the materials for this Noah's Ark play ground, we have many willing and able individuals that would love to build this, including myself if they let me.

I've had a few ask how to donate and finding any kind of website that doesn't charge fees is difficult. So we've set up a Venmo specifically for this.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, anything.

We appreciate all the prayers and everything you all have done for us the past couple years.

We are 11 days away from our last dose of chemo! Tomorrow is special, because he will take him last oral dose of methotrexate.
